Senior Account Manager

Job Description
Be on the front lines of the Agency with our Clients, leading our teams to do great work, solve complex challenges, and deliver and delight. As the key point of contact for assigned Clients, the Senior AM is the representative of the Agency to the Client. They are expected to become an expert in their Clients businesses’ and think of themselves as an “external Marketing Director” for their Client - identifying needs and providing solutions that drive the Client business (and ours) forward.

Job Tasks 

  • Weekly project status reports to all Clients
  • Following meeting best practices: developing & communicating a clear agenda in advance, capturing meeting notes from all key discussions, sending recaps to Clients (and internal teams) with clear action items and ownership post-discussion
  • Write project briefs, creative briefs
  • Organize and run kickoff meetings for internal team
  • Prep for all Client meetings (room setup, room reservations, meals, etc.)
  • Report to Agency on Client status (via weekly Agency production meetings)
  • Participate in Client online presence (i.e. follow on socials, join email programs, etc.)
  • Develop Marketing Plans and Project Plans as needed
  • Track Client budgets
  • Develop SOW documents for new opportunities
  • Work with PM to ensure they create actionable, reasonable production schedules

Job Functions 

  • Work with both internal and external stakeholders to produce and present marketing/project plans
  • Oversee and manage all projects and initiatives from inception to completion
  • Organize and inspire the team to do great work
  • Work closely with Project Management (responsible for getting work done on time, on target and under budget) to exceed client objectives and expectations
  • Work closely with Analytics to ensure KPIs are clearly defined and reported on in a meaningful way to Client
  • Manage your Clients’ budgets: staying within scope (and communicating well, and often, when an issue arises)
  • Communicate with Clients frequently (in their tone)
  • Recognize organic growth opportunities within your existing Client base and sell-in new ideas effectively
  • Develop presentations and present on behalf of the agency to Clients and their teams (including creative concepts, strategies, marketing plans, etc.)
  • Organize and lead all Agency initiatives for your Clients (meeting agendas, taking point in meetings, etc.) - both internally and externally
  • Build marketing plans and project plans for Clients
  • Collaborate with the account team and project management to build internal processes and create efficiencies
  • Lead ongoing strategic conversations with clients and distill those into briefs and actionable solutions
  • Push internally for world-class creative and measurable results on behalf of our Clients
  • Oversee account performance, both Client-side ROI and internal profitability
  • Help transition new Clients from the Sales process through initial kick-off engagement
  • Participate in Brand Positioning workshops and development for your Clients
  • Share successes with the team and with the Client
  • Lead by example, providing clear communications across all teams internally

  • The advocate for your Clients in the Agency (voice of the Client)
  • The advocate for the Agency and its work to the Client (voice of the Agency)

  • Team leader - creating alignment across all disciplines of Agency to produce results
  • The internal “filter” for Client work (it is on brand, on strategy, on brief)
  • Representative of the Agency to Client (become an expert at reading the room, supporting our work, and recognizing opportunities)
  • Participate in new and organic business opportunities as needed, drafting proposals and attending new business meetings with potential Clients

Career History 

  • 5 - 7 years experience in a Senior Account Manager or Senior Brand Manager role
  • Agency experience or in-house Agency experience required
  • Client management experience required
  • B2B experience preferred
  • Management of multiple brands or Clients at once required
